Helping Hands Fund

About Helping Hands

Helping Hands is a tax-free grant funded program designed to provide emergency assistance (up to a $2,000 lifetime limit) to caregivers who are experiencing a crisis, unexpected hardship or at risk of domestic violence and are unable to pay for basic necessities such as food, housing, utilities and transportation.

Register for Brightside

Caregivers who register with Brightside will get paired with a personal Financial Assistant who can help with all things related to money – including submitting the Helping Hands application online.

Apply for Helping Hands

Who is eligible to apply?

Any caregiver who is experiencing a crisis or unforeseen hardship can apply. Temporary, and/or independent contractors are not eligible for Helping Hands.

How to apply:

To apply, call Brightside at 1-855-979-7768 or register for Brightside here. Identify yourself as a caregiver of Providence or one of its affiliates and request an assessment interview for Helping Hands.

Based on their financial assessment of the information you provide from the interview, application, and supporting documents, a Brightside Financial Assistant will refer you to all applicable personal and/or community resources, which may include Helping Hands.

Required information:

 
  • Name, EEID, Hospital/Division
  • Specific financial need(s) for which you are applying
  • Address, email, and contact information
  • Other resources you have reached out to for assistance
  • Description of crisis or unforeseen hardship
  • Documentation of need (i.e. bills, eviction notice)
  • ALL household income
